THE SACRED PAUSE - Finding Rest in the Rush
Excerpt: The world rewards the "grind," but God rewards the "abide." In the middle of the noise and the hustle of the city, there is a peace that doesn't make sense to the world, but makes perfect sense to your soul.
Gospel-Formation Thought
We live in a culture that measures worth by productivity. If we aren't "doing," we feel like we aren't "being." But the Vibe of Heaven is built on a different rhythm: Grace. Scripture tells us in Matthew 11:28-30 that Jesus invites the weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. This isn't just about sleep; it's about a soul-rest that stays with you even while you work. When we stop trying to prove our value through our pace, we start experiencing God's presence in our place.
Gospel-Formation Response
Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray and reconnect with the Father. He wasn't hurried, yet He fulfilled His entire purpose. He lived from a place of overflow, not emptiness. By prioritizing the "pause," we allow the Spirit to refill us so we aren't just running on fumes, but running on His power.
Gospel-Formation Prayer
Jesus, I give You my "to-do" list and my anxiety. Teach me how to rest in the middle of the rush. Let my peace be a signal to this city that You are in control.
God created us, He knows all things, and we cannot be without Him. He is the Great I Am. The Alpha and the Omega. My and your everything.
Our City. Our Signal.
