Orlando is not just a tourist destination. It is a living, breathing city with a soul.
For too long, the stories of the Black and Latino communities in Central Florida have been treated as side notesfootnotes in a brochure about theme parks and tourism. The real pulse of this city beats in the neighborhoods of Parramore, Pine Hills, Kissimmee, and East Orlando. It beats in our barbershops, our churches, our small businesses, and our classrooms.
Today, we are turning the volume up.
Two Voices. One City.
Founded by Grace Jordan Studios, Listen Orlando is an independent media platform dedicated to the Black and Latino experience in Central Florida.
Our mission is simple: To document the culture.
We believe that our communities are not separate; we are intertwined. We share the same struggles, the same triumphs, and often, the same neighborhoods. Listen Orlando is the bridge. Whether you say "Listen" or "Oye," the message is the same: We are here.
More Than News: It's Edutainment.
We are not traditional journalists. We are a collective of Music Producers, Songwriters, Filmmakers, and Public School Teachers.
Because of our background in education and entertainment, we don't just report the news; we teach the context.
- The Narrative: We cover the politics and policies affecting our streets.
- The Vibe: From the food trucks to the art galleries, we celebrate our joy.
- Did You Know?: Led by our educational mascot Izzy the Frog, we are building a digital archive of Black and Latino history that is often left out of textbooks.
The Signal is Live.
This platform works in tandem with our sister studio, Listen Orlando. While they focus on high-fidelity film and visual production, Listen Orlando is the daily pulse—the newspaper, the radio, and the classroom rolled into one.
We have tuned our frequency to match the city we love. Our colors reflect the Magic, the City Soccer purple, and the Hustle of our people.
This is your station. This is your story.
Tune in. The signal is strong.
